im not cool enough to be a mac user

I came to this conclusion a long time ago when I was the late adopter to finally get the ipod circa 2004.  I also still have the same green ipod mini.

I spend a lot of time in coffee shops all over Atlanta as they’re convenient meeting places to conduct business.  When I’m sitting there awaiting my 20 minute late companion, I do as I always do to bide the time and people watch.  No big surprise that a large portion of the laptop users are on Macs.  There is an air about these people that they’re so technologically savvy and simultaneously hip.  I think I can ascribe more to the later adjective, but certainly not the prior.

Maybe I’m too traditional (that’s not a statement I rarely say) and comfortable with my PC and Blackberry.  Maybe I don’t want to make home movies or music on my Mac.  Or, maybe I’m really just not cool enough to be adopted into the family of Mac users.

  1. Very interesting article I love your blog carry on the good articles

  2. Fair point. To buy a Mac one has to both afford it and want it, as well. I suppose those are additional barriers.

  3. Maybe you don’t want to spend $2,000 more dollars to look cool while you check your email and watch youtube videos.

  4. To be adopted into the family of mac users, you have to buy a mac. As far as I can, that’s the extent of it.

I have a mac, but I don’t know how to put on an air of being technologically savvy and and simultaneously hip. Maybe if I saw a picture of someone doing it…?
