While I’m sure there are valuable reasons to pay a PR firm (I interned at one and should be able to answer that, but cannot), I’ve been overly pleased by the results I’ve found from subscribing to the daily email HARO (stands for ‘Help A Reporter Out’), and answering press releases asking for content for stories (hence my recent influx of free press).

Even with my books for kids that teach the basics of financial education which are yet to be published, I got a shout out in this article by ‘WalletPop’, an AOL online magazine.    If you have any personal experiences and/or business opportunities you’re looking to promote, I highly recommend signing up for the daily emails and answering the inquiries.  In an era where our ‘personal brands’ are more important than ever, this resource is a stellar opportunity to get your name/brand out there.
